Accounting and Information Systems
The accounting and information systems major gives students an opportunity to prepare for entry-level positions in various accounting and finance careers.
Students study upper-level accounting courses in:
financial reporting, including for-profit and not-for-profit entities,
managerial and cost accounting,
taxes,
auditing,
information systems, and
international financial reporting. |

Students are
prepared to take professional level examinations
such
as the certified public accounting and certified managerial
accounting exams.
Career opportunities include:
- public accounting
- managerial accounting
- finance
career tracks in business
- not-for-profit entities
- government.
Students also develop strong analytical
skills that enable them to enter other related career
areas. |
