English Department
The Department of English offers
a program that provides students with an understanding
of the humanistic tradition in literature. Its curriculum
gives students certain goals, including participation
in courses that are a part of an ongoing process of
learning, and the skillful communication of thought.
The courses are designed to provide both continuity
and diversity.
English courses develop writing, speaking, and critical
thinking skills, as well as foster an appreciation of
literature and the humanities. In addition, by offering
internships in related communications fields, the English
Department encourages students to plan for a career.
